Southside Physio offers a range of group exercise classes, using some pilates informed exercises at both our Woden and Tuggeranong clinics.
Woden offers semi private exercise classes, named dynamic core classes. These classes have a maximum of 4 participants per class to allow for individual monitoring and progression of your program. Prior to starting these classes, you will need to book in for a one on one assessment for 45 minutes with Megan, the physiotherapist who will be taking the classes. This allows for Megan to create an individually tailored program to each participant.
Because of their individual and tailored nature- these classes are suitable for everyone and there is commonly a variety of levels within the same class as everyone is doing an individual program. These sessions are conducted by a physiotherapist to enable safe and effective exercise practice while monitoring and adjusting for different levels of injury and ability within the class
Some of the exercises in your program are informed by the pilates method, and we do use equipment including the pilates reformer, exercise balls and resistance bands.
Mondays 12 midday – 1.00pm
Mondays 5.30pm – 6.30pm
Tuesdays 5.30pm -6.30pm
Tuesdays 6.30pm – 7.30pm
Wednesdays 11am – 12 midday
These classes run in a 6 week block, starting at various times through the year.
As these classes are run by a physiotherapist, you may be able to receive a rebate from your private health insurer.
Our Tuggeranong clinic offers physiotherapy led group exercise classes that use pilates based rehabilitation exercises. These classes run for 9 weeks during the school terms. Classes are 50 minutes in duration and you are able to join these classes at any point through the term. If you pay for consecutive classes, a discount is available.
Prior to commencing the group classes, you do need to book in for a 20 minute one on one assessment, to allow Siobhain, the physiotherapist running the classes to be aware of any injuries or issues that you may have. The maximum class size is 14 people.
Tuesdays 12.30pm – 1.20pm
Tuesdays 6pm – 6.50 pm
Tuesdays 7pm – 7.50 pm
Siobhain also offers one on one private pilates. No assessment is required for this, and sessions are 40 minutes duration.
